Meet the Casting Committee

Ava Fontaine
Ava is a 49-year-old trans lady who has been seduced by stage lights and sequins, as she dips her toe into the world of burlesque for the first time. A natural performer, she’s here to show that sass and sparkle don’t come with an expiration date and that every curve, quirk, and aspect of diversity belongs on stage. Offstage, Ava wrangles two silly rescue dogs with her wife, and transforms everyday finds into wild upcycled creations, from funky furniture to TV aquariums.

Trish Tahouney-Brown
Trisha Tahouney is a proud multiracial individual who is dedicated to building inclusive, resilient communities. Trisha balances professional life working two jobs with a passion for service and giving back through initiatives that foster equity, access and connection for all. A parent to a neurodiverse child and being neurodiverse, Trisha brings both personal experience and insight into advocacy work and champions opportunities that support diverse voices and experiences. Trisha is committed to strengthening community well-being and creating space where everyone belongs.

Alyxandra Brown
Alyxandra has worn many hats throughout her life including actor, writer, and professional baker. Currently she is mom to three amazing kids, wife to an extra hard-working husband, and poop scooper to two ridiculous cats. On the cusp of forty, she is still figuring out what she wants to be when she grows up.

Sabrina D'Buff
Sabrina may love burlesque because it allows her to mix her passions of dance, acting and creativity but it’s the reclaiming of her power that fuels her love of the art form. A powerhouse on stage and off, Sabrina has been performing burlesque for over eight years across BC and in the US and produces as one-half of Silk & Steel Productions.
Sabrina is a holistic body worker and loves crafts.
She also recently went back to work on her psychology degree at UVic and can't wait to start a family with her partners.
She will always strive to help others reach the goals they doubt they can. You may say you can’t. Sabrina will say “you can’t YET”

Shirley A Tease
Starting burlesque at age 43, Shirley A Tease felt she had arrived home in her body, using the artform to heal and unabashedly embrace joy. As a proud single mother of three incredible children, Shirley finds inspiration and strength in her role as a parent. Her career brings her immense satisfaction, helping people and organizations navigate change, and she dedicates her spare time to fundraising and long-distance running as well as producing burlesque shows as one half of Silk & Steel Productions.
As founder of Aged to Perfection Shirley is passionate about uplifting performers of “a certain age” and rewriting the narrative that exists about aging and womanhood.
